Joy Marsh, UCare Associate Vice President of Equity and Inclusion, was selected by Twin Cities Business as one of the Minnesota influencers, thought leaders and key players likely to be making news or driving change in 2022. Her work to build a lifelong legacy of anti-racism at UCare was highlighted by the publication.

Julia Joseph-Di Caprio, MD, MPH, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, was selected by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as a 2021 Women in Business honoree. Singled out for championing health care and health equity, she is one of 50 business women recognized for their professional achievements, leadership qualities and contributions to the broader Twin Cities community.

University of Minnesota School of Public Health Alumni Award of Merit, October 2021
Julia Joseph-Di Caprio, MD, MPH, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, received the Alumni Award of Merit from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health for her work helping to make health a human right. She was selected by a group of her peers for her success in using her education from the School of Public Health to make a significant difference for UCare and the communities we serve.

Star Tribune Top Workplaces 2021, June 2021
For the 12th consecutive year, UCare was named a Star Tribune Top 175 Workplace. Ranked 11th in the large employer category, UCare is one of only a small number of companies to earn the recognition all 12 years of the awards program. UCare’s diversity tool was also mentioned in this Star Tribune article.

Minnesota Public Health Association, Albert Justus Chesley Award, June 2021
Annie Halland, MPH, UCare’s County, Tribal and Public Health Manager, was selected by the Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA) to receive the prestigious Albert Justus Chesley Award for distinguishing herself in the field of public health and making a definite contribution to the MPHA. The award is named after A.J. Chesley, MD, who had a long and distinguished career leading public health efforts at the Minnesota Department of Health.

Aster Awards, June 2021
UCare won two Gold Aster Awards in this national competition honoring excellence in health care advertising. UCare’s 2020 diverse communities outreach campaign with UNO Branding earned a Gold Award as did its creative TV advertising adaptations for COVID-19 with Preston Kelly.

Minnesota Lawyer, In-house Counsel, Healthcare Organization, April 2021
Daniel Santos, UCare’s Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, has been awarded In-house Counsel, Healthcare Organization, by Minnesota Lawyer. He is one of 17 honorees from around the state recognized for their contributions to the profession of in-house attorney. A special event on April 29 was held to recognize the honorees.

Margie Lindberg, UCare’s Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Product Management, has been named a Notable Executive in Marketing by Twin Cities Business – featured in the April 12th issue of the magazine. She joins 31 other local notable executives selected for their ability to create significant, positive and measurement results in their field.

National Mature Media Awards, September 2019
The 28th annual National Mature Media Awards—the largest competition of its kind—recognizes the nation’s best advertising, marketing, and educational materials and programs produced for older adults and their families in 2018. UCare’s Medicare Meetup TV ad and Medicare De-complicator Guide were honored with Bronze awards in this national competition.

Wellness by Design Award, July 2019
UCare’s employee wellness program, RENEW, won a Silver 2019 Wellness by Design award for making employee health a priority through creative and effective wellness initiatives. Wellness by Design Awards are presented to Hennepin County employers that demonstrate accomplishments in management support, wellness infrastructure, communication and programming directed at improving employee health.

Healthcare Advertising Awards, May 2019
UCare’s 2018 brand campaign was recognized through several Healthcare Advertising Awards for their creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. UCare won Gold awards for its bike team outdoor ads and its new logo/brand identity. UCare’s bike quiz radio ads won Silver, and its “people powered health plan” TV ads received a Merit award.

Aster Awards, May 2019
UCare’s brand campaign won six Aster Awards in the national health care marketing competition. The 2018 internal brand launch, TV ad launch, radio ad and brand identity won Gold Awards. UCare’s Medicare de-complicator guide earned a Silver Award, and its TV ad series received a Bronze Award.

Patrick Mitsch, UCare Pharmacy Director, was selected by Managed Healthcare Executive magazine as one of ten nationally recognized emerging leaders in managed care. The magazine selected Mitsch for his dynamic leadership in key pharmacy initiatives and actions that support the health of UCare members.

Woman of Courage Award
Ghita Worcester, UCare Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Chief Marketing Officer, was named a Woman of Courage by the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST for longstanding commitment to the community. The 2018 Courage Awards celebrate individuals who have taken a risk and demonstrated courage in navigating the unknown to help the health care industry transform its future.

NCQA Excellent Accreditation for Medicare Plan, November 2017
UCare’s UCare for Seniors Medicare plan was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for excellent member experience and quality outcomes. It is one of the highest-rated plans in NCQA’s Health Plan Report Cards nationwide listings, and one of only two Minnesota plans awarded Excellent.

U.S. News and World Report Best Medicare Plan, October 2017
This national publication named UCare’s Medicare plan among the best in the country based on its high-quality Medicare star rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Aster Awards for communication excellence, June 2016
UCare won two Silver Awards in the national health care marketing competition. The silver honors were earned by the health plan’s 2014 Report to the Community and its My UCare mobile app for UCare members.

Digital Health Award, Spring 2016
UCare’s mobile app won a Merit Award in the national Spring 2016 competition. The app enables UCare members to access information about their benefits, claims, ID card, providers and health plan contact information.

Mature Media Award, January 2016
A new member guide for UCare’s EssentiaCare Medicare plan was honored with a Merit Award in the 2016 competition. “Your Guide to Good Health” helps new EssentiaCare enrollees take advantage of all the benefits of their Medicare Advantage plan.
